At least 4 vietnamese stations showed up during last CQ WW contest. XV1X, XV2RZ and XV4TUJ have send logs with XV1X running high power and claiming the best result. 3W1M is also known to have made QSOs during this contest but have not published any log yet.

XV2LC and XV4LC from August 12th to September 9th
Malcolm VK6LC will be XV2LC and XV4LC from 12/08/2010 to 9/09/2010. He will operate from various places : Vung Tau, Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Ho Coc, Cu Chi (to be confirmed) and Can Tho. He will use a FT-857D transceiver with a 1kW linear for CW, Phone and digimode activities. Antennas will depend on the place he is operating from from wired antennas for low bands (including a 160m V-Beam), to Ground Plane and small beams at XV2A or XV4TUJ shack.
Malcolm has a long and rich relationship with Viet-Nam having operated from here many times from 1996 to 2007. He has been involved in may actions helping the development of radioamateurisme in modern Viet-Nam. He will arrive here more like a friend rather than a dxpeditioner.
CQ WPX Contest
At least 3 vietnamese stations were active during last week-end CQ WPX contest. 3W1M, XV2RZ and XV4TUJ participated to the contest, a fourth station also has been heard but not perfectly identified. XV2RZ seems to have demonstrated a serious effort during this contest but his results are not disclosed for now.
T32MI, T32CI, T32VI : Eastern Kiribati (updated)
A first contact between Malden island in the Eastern Kiribati archipelago and Viêt-Nam has been maid today by XV4TUJ. T32MI expedition is operating from islet that have never been activated before.
Caroline Island activated with the T32CI callsign was also easily contacted. No doubt that the operators are really skilled and perfectly managed the pile-up.
Landing on Vostok island was impossible and the team has finally started operation on Flint island. T32VI was also contacted from Viêt-Nam.
