Malcolm will visit me soon on next friday. So far condx have been very poor until recently and he only managed a few QSOs fighting against the solar weather. Things are improving slowly and there is still hope for good DX.
Here a picture he sent.

From Mal VK6LC (https://www NULL.qrz NULL.com/db/VK6LC):
DX Vacation Vietnam 2015
Mal. VK6LC will be Celebrating 15 years (2000-2015) service to Amateur Radio Vietnam and operating two special callsigns.
Year 2000, 3W6LC experienced spot frequency operating and setting up the (VARC) Vietnam Amateur Radio Club XV2A
in Ho Chi Minh City, including donating operational radio equipment for the event.
VARC is still operative today and available for use to all overseas visiting licensed operators.A special reunion will take place linking many of the local Vietnamese Operator friends
and families. A trip down to the famous Mekong Delta, my favourite place is also scheduled.I will be looking forward to short path conditions, working North and South America for first time Country entry.
My working conditions for both sites are well established DX Stations with multi-band beams.XV2VTC (Vung Tau City) 24th. – 30th. September 2015.
3W2HCM (Ho Chi Minh City) 16th. – 23rd. October 2015.
Working SSB/CW on 15-17-20m.
Here a picture of Malcolm VK6LC when he visited Eddy XV1X’s house where he operated as XV1LC. Conditions have not been that great however and not as much QSOs as expect have been logged. Malcolm we also be in Can Tho for a short time around November 16th and he may operate as XV4LC using XV4Y club station.
Malcom VK6LC will operate from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in November. More details to come later.
Malcolm VK6LC will be active from the delta between April 19-24th. Only 17 and 20m CW/SSB.
Malcolm de VK6LC will be active from Viet-Nam once again. He is planning to be on the air from December the 2nd to the 8th on 20, 17 and 12m. Have fun Malcolm!
Malcolm (VK6LC) has been heard yesterday on 20 meters. He will have a few days for radio during this holiday trip in Viet-Nam.
During his antenna set up in Ho Coc, Malcolm has got his leg injured. He had to go to the hospital for check-up and treatment in order to prevent the wound being infected.
After reducing his operating time in Ho Coc, he is now enjoying some rest so he will recover quicker. Some radio activity is still possible from Ho Chi Minh City or Can Tho, but no schedule can be planned.
Malcolm will soon be in Ho Coc, in the Ho Chi Minh City nearby province of Ba Ria – Vung Tau. He had enjoyed delightful pile-ups from Saigon were conditions on 20m were fair. His setup in XV2A HCMC station was good but industrial and human activities related QRM was far stronger than the years before, making traffic sometime exhausting.
Operations in Ho Coc should start from tuesday in the evening or wednesday. Malcolm will focus on lower bands and CW, installing inverted V for 160m and 80m… He will also have a vertical for 20m. Enjoy DX!
Malcolm has starting his operation from Ho Chi Minh City and was having great time in pile-ups from North America, Australia, Japan and Europe. He needs time to make some maintenance to XV2A (Ai) station so the 1kw linear and 20m beam will be in better shape.
