The japanese space agencies have confirmed the vietnamese cubesat F-1 and its companions will be deployed on September 27th 2012. This will be the first deployment of 5 cubesats from Kibo module and it will serve as a test to further simple and inexpensive launches from the ISS via the japanese HTV cargo. F-1 lifetime in space before re-entry is forecasted to be 250 days. Good luck!

F-1 cubesat deployement expected on September 10th
According to JAXA news, 5 CubeSats currently onboard the ISS, including F-1, are scheduled to be deployed into space on Monday, 10 September, at 13h00 UTC. Actual time may vary depends on ISS activities.

F-1 satellite now in Japan
The F-1 cubesat has been delivered to the JAXA and is now waiting for its integration in the HTV-3 mission payload. More details and pictures are here.
Successful test for F-1 cubesat
Thu XV9AA informed us that last week-end his team successfully completed on ground long range communication tests with the F-1 bird. The project team is now undergoing the cubesat safety review to confirm its launch by an HTV cargo in late July.
First vietnam sat F-1 to be launched in July 2012
Along 4 other cubesats, the first ever Vietnam designed and built satellite will be launched from the ISS between July 18th – 21st this year. It will be sent via the japanese HTV cargo vehicle. More infos to come…
