Despite using less equipment than hoped because of the military restricted status of the island, the team has managed to work around 8000 QSOs. After a short ceremony with local officials and people, the operators have gone back to Saigon so they can catch a plane back to Europe, looking for the volcanic ashes to let them flight safely.

3W6C has landed
3W6C team is in Viêt-Nam now and has met XV2A and XV2B in Ho Chi Minh City. They will soon leave for their final destination and start operation. Please follow the news on their expedition website.
CQ WPX Contest
At least 3 vietnamese stations were active during last week-end CQ WPX contest. 3W1M, XV2RZ and XV4TUJ participated to the contest, a fourth station also has been heard but not perfectly identified. XV2RZ seems to have demonstrated a serious effort during this contest but his results are not disclosed for now.

Reijo seems active from Saïgon and heavily spotted on the DXcluster. Enjoy DX with him!
T32MI, T32CI, T32VI : Eastern Kiribati (updated)
A first contact between Malden island in the Eastern Kiribati archipelago and Viêt-Nam has been maid today by XV4TUJ. T32MI expedition is operating from islet that have never been activated before.
Caroline Island activated with the T32CI callsign was also easily contacted. No doubt that the operators are really skilled and perfectly managed the pile-up.
Landing on Vostok island was impossible and the team has finally started operation on Flint island. T32VI was also contacted from Viêt-Nam.
Less than 1 month to 3W6C expedition
3W6C expedition will activate Côn Có Island, a top wanted IOTA. This very skilled team plan to arrive in Viêt-Nam at the beginning of April.
Propagation is improving slowly and 15m band is often open to Europe now. Contact should be possible from any part of the world on most HF bands and modes.
